I was hired by Chris Ewen, Mayor of the Rural Municipality (RM) of Ritchot, to capture video of his RM in 2021. This task had it's challenges. The Summer of 2021 was particularly dry leaving grass very orange and brown. I found it difficult to make drone footage look appealing throughout this summer. I remained patient and then Southern Manitoba received lots of rain in August, 2021, resulting in late growth of thick green grass and full trees by end of August.
In this video you will see the use of an FPV (First Person View) drone, more specifically a DJI FPV. This style of drone requires the use of goggles to view where the drone is flying. The results of FPV drone footage can be very dramatic, exciting and fun to watch.
The videos were all shot (technical dump, sorry) in 4K, H265, 10bit and in Log formats, then colour graded and edited within Adobe's Premiere Pro. Special attention was given to provide the smoothest of videos. Smoothness was achieved by multiple methods including frame rates, stabilization within editing software, and motorized gimbals.
Grand Pointe, located in the RM of Ritchot, is a luxurious residential community with many new homes being built. It's location just South of Winnipeg doesn't require much industry or places of work, simply just a beautiful community to live and raise a family.

Not sure what to call Glenlea other than 'town'. :) If you're looking for remote living with miles between you and your neighbors then Glenlea is the place to be! Located South of Winnipeg. Hopefully I was able to capture the mood of Glenlea by including a hobby farm in this footage. Lucky to catch a train moving as well!
The busiest of all towns located in the RM of Ritchot. If you're looking for a community to call home just outside of Winnipeg where you could possibly work as well then this would be the place for you.
Not a town but certainly worthy of it's own video as a highlight of the RM of Ritchot.
